Provide you with online sales stats and sales confirmation emails if you want to receive them.

Provide you with marketing pages on our various sites for your book that is submitted to various Newsgroups and also to Search Engines.

We do not charge you to publish your book with Fiction4All. For Exclusive authors you must meet with with our requirements and style guide! If you need help with editing your book, or sourcing a cover image we can put you in touch with the right people to help.

We do not require Publishing Agreements. By submitting your books to us you give us permission to publish and distribute them according to your author type - exclusive or self-published.

For self-published authors you can either queue your books to be published (meaning we crate the various formats to be sold) or you can submit them as Direct To Sale (DTS) in which case you supply any formats we offer, that you want us to sell.

Our publishing option is available to authors aged at least 18 years. If you publish exclusively with Fiction4All and your book was previously with another publisher then it must have been removed from sale and you must have a reversion of rights letter as evidence you have regained the rights to publish the book elsewhere. If you have previously represented your book on a free site or have self-published your book please contact us before you submit it to us.

In joining our Exclusive publishing program you give us publishing rights on an exclusive basis for a minimum period of THREE years (7 years if we agree to produce an audiobook of your story). This includes permission to distribute your title through third party sales sites as appropriate and you give us rights to publish your book in both digital and print formats. Also at our discretion, and in agreement with you, we may also create an audiobook version of your book or, if you create your own audiobook you can give us rights to sell and distribute it.

To be Exclusively published by us, your book must be at least 5,000 words long. You must also conform to our submission requirements as described in our various documents in the author suite.

Where you are either Exclkusively publishing with us, or you are welf-publishing with us and have opted into our Novels4All program, and your book is suitable we will consider it for a paperback edition.

Please note that when you create your first author profile you will automatically be included in our newsletters to authors published on our sites. If you do not wish to receive our business newsletters please do not join us.

FOR ROYALTY RATES PLEASE READ OUR SEPARATE DOCUMENT ON THIS SUBJECT.

We will submit books to other sites from our imprints listed in this document, unless you are elf-published. We will create paperback editions where possible for all suitable books, (minimum book length for standard B format [12.9 x 19.8cm] is about 20000 words). We use Lightning Source as a POD printer.

All authors MUST be aged 18 years or over and become members of our site as this is how the stats and royalties system works. A single membership covers all our sites.

Once you have joined us, you will have access from our Publishing Suite to all the facilities you require. This includes access to the software to set yourself up as one of our authors, the story submission software and the publishing tracking software. In addition you will be able to update your details, monitor your earnings and tell us how you want us to pay you. You can also opt into our Paperback program if your author is self-published. Exclusive authors are automatically included in our paperback program.

In all cases we maintain accounts on our site for all authors. You can decide whether you want to be paid weekly or monthly through PayPal, or be paid by direct bank transfer in the UK, or an overseas transfer if you bank outside the UK. When the balance of your account reaches a minimum value of 10 in any of the currencies we support, our account payment processing routines will automatically trigger payment of the entire balance on the account across all supported currencies. For weekly PayPal payments, the balance of your account will be taken as at the end of Sunday each week. Where your balance is greater than 10 in any currency, you will receive payment by the following Tuesday. Where the balance is below the minimum, your balance will roll over to the following week. For monthly payments, due to restrictions imposed by our credit card processing system, payments will not normally be made for at least 21 days after the month end as we have to clear funds from our card processor.

With effect from February 2019, the minimum amount we will pay out on for an International Bank Transfer is Euro100 or $100 - as otherwise bank charges will eat up your payment.

We will pay the costs of a UK Bank Transfer and our own costs of an International transfer. You will need to pay your own bank charges for an International transfer.

Author guidelines, royalty payment rates and terms

BY SUBMITTING YOUR BOOK TO US FOR PUBLICATION,

YOU ARE DEEMED TO HAVE READ AND AGREED TO

THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS LAID OUT IN THIS AND OTHER DOCUMENTS.

We welcome manuscript submissions from both new and experienced authors on equal terms, for both exclusive authors and those who self-publish.

For exclusive authors:-

We expect you to present your submission in a format that is as close as possible to our Style Guide. We expect you to have thoroughly checked your script for name consistencies, spellings and for grammar. Provided you have done this then it is FREE to publish with Fiction4All. If you cannot do this, or your writing quality needs attention, we will offer you advice and paid for editorial services to cover the cost and time to bring your work up to a reasonable standard.

As a publisher we know that no script is perfect. So we are not seeking perfection, but we do need a certain standard as we do not have time to edit for free any scripts that are poorly written or formatted, or where no attempt to correct basic spelling mistakes etc. has been made by the author.

This is only fair to all our authors who do make this effort. If the work is not of a suitable quality, we will either request you make changes before resubmitting it, or we can direct you to our recommended paid editor services.

The guidelines below are for authors submitting stories to be published directly by Fiction4All. These stories must NOT be published elsewhere, including any magazines, and by submitting them to us you agree to give us rights to publish and distribute your stories on our own and 3rd party sites exclusively, both in digital and print formats. You also confirm that you are the copyright owner of the material you are submitting. We will close the account, and retain any royalties, of any author who submits a story that has been plagiarised or stolen from another author.

Our site sells fiction ebooks and paperback editions (if you are either Exclusively published, or you opt IN to the paperback program).

WE DO NOT PUBLISH INCOMPLETE STORIES OR COLLECTIONS THAT ARE EXTRACTS OR ADVERTS FOR LONGER EDITIONS

DO NOT SEND US STORIES OR ANTHOLOGIES THAT ARE LESS THAN 5,000 WORDS

For stories that are under 5000 words that are suitable for our various anthologies, please see our Calls for Anthologies on this site and submit according to those requirements.

Submissions

Before submitting your story please make sure it conforms with the requirements in our Style Guide. This is important.

You must initially create your author profile from the Profiles option on the Control Center. Once an author profile has been created, you can use the Publish a New Book feature to create a title submission (or Publish a New Book using DTS if you are self published). The procedures will require you to select or supply the following information:

o   The imprint that is appropriate for your submission.

o

o   Genre(s) that the title applies to: e.g , mystery&crime, horror, etc. You can see the available genres on the front page of the author suite and inside the author suite. You may select up to three genres that are applicable to your title.

o

o   A short blurb for the title (up to 300 characters) - this is not a full synopsis but a few hundred words that will be used to provide information to Smashwords that they require. We also use this on a few pages within the Fiction4All website.

o

o   A longer blurb for the title - this is not a full synopsis but a few hundred words that will be displayed on site to attract interest in your book. We will use this for publishing a paperback edition.

o

o   If you are an Exclusive author - any ideas you have for a cover picture - unless you are sending us a picture to use (see below).

o

o   Once you have completed the short submissions form you will be given the choice of either emailing us the story or uploading it to our server using the software provided.

o

o   We require from you the following files:

§  The full script in Word document (.doc) or RTF (.rtf) format. Avoid adding your name or page numbers, we will add all the legal protection necessary if your novel is accepted. Your manuscript MUST closely follow our layout requirements which are detailed in our Style Guide.

§  Your chosen extract from the title to help sell your title (usually the first chapter or a few hundred words)

§  For exclusive authors -If you can do so - we would also ask you to send us a good-quality cover picture (not under copyright) relevant to the story supplied as a jpg. This should be portrait in orientation. If you can't do this - no matter - we will try and find one that is suitable, based on any ideas you include in your submission

§  For self-published authors, you must provide your own cover image.

§  Submissions that do not follow the above procedure and provide all the information requested are unlikely to be considered for publication.

For exclusive authors, manuscripts submitted that do not conform reasonably well to our manuscript layout requirements in our Style Guide will not be accepted by us.

For exclusive authors, it is your responsibility as author to ensure your script follows our Style Guide as closely as possible and that the script has been thoroughly checked for spelling and grammar. If our editorial team consider any book has not been presented to our requirements then we will either reject the submission or offer paid-editorial services.

Royalty payment and terms

ROYALTY RATE

Please see our royalty information page for rates.

You have access to detailed transaction reports from sales on our site. Sales from our own site are credited to you within the hour of the customer making payment for their purchase. Our software runs in a batch process behind the scenes on a cyclical basis.

Revenue earned from 3rd party sites will be credited to your account as soon as we receive the related payment, and will then be automatically included in your next payout according to the payment cycle and minimum payment you set up on your account. For Smashwords this will be 1 to 2 months after the sale takes place. Other sites we distribute on pay us quarterly when our account with them reaches a certain threshold for payment, and will be at least a month after the quarter to which the payment relates.

In all cases we maintain accounts for all authors. You can decide whether you want to be paid weekly, monthly or quarterly through PayPal. Or you can be paid monthly or quarterly by bank transfer (UK or International). When the balance of your account reaches a minimum of 10 in any of the three currencies we hold, our account payment processing routines will automatically trigger payment of the balance on the account. For weekly PayPal payments, the balance of your account will be taken as at the end of Sunday each week. Where your balance is greater than the minimum payout level, you will receive payment by the following Tuesday. Where the balance is below the minimum, your balance will roll over to the following week. For monthly and quarterly payments, due to restrictions imposed by our credit card processing system, we MUST advise you that payments will not be made for up to 28 days after the month end as we have to clear funds from our card processor. Transfers to a UK Bank are made FREE of charge. For International bank transfers we will pay our own costs of the transfer, and you will pay your own bank costs. For transfers to a UK or International Bank please contact us for details so we can set this up for you.

COPYRIGHT

Copyright always remains with the author.

We will do our best to stop your books from being given away for free on forums and other sites - however this is a cooperative exercise and almost impossible to police, and we rely on information being fed back to us so we can take action against those who would rob you of your income. When we are made aware of a copyright infringement we will do all we can to resolve the matter as your publisher.

PUBLISHING RIGHTS

As author you confer exclusive rights on Fiction4All to publish your book in digital formats, and printed format if you opt into our paperback program, and by agreement subject to book size and studio availability, in audiobook format. It is taken as agreed between you and us that we have these rights for a minimum period of 3 years from the date of publication (7 years for an audiobook). If your book is eligible to be added to our paperback publishing program but you do not want it included in that program, you must identify this when submitting the book to us. If you require a reversion of rights during the initial 36 month period you must write to us and ask for this to happen. We reserve the right to charge $50 per book where the book is in digital format only, and $100 per book if the book is in print before rights will revert. After the 36 month period as stated above, you can request reversion of rights without financial cost. After the initial 36 month period we will continue to sell your books unless you ask us to revert rights to you.

PRICING POLICY

Prices of ALL digital titles published on Fictin4All are determined by the author. Prices are given in US dollars and UK Sterling and Euro equivalents are calculated using regularly update exchange rates.
