We require a Publishing Agreement to be in place for books submitted to our 4Play Press imprint before we start the publishing process. The Agreement will be based on certain information you provide at the time of submitting a script to us and will set out the duties of both parties so we all know where we stand. It will also give us a legal document to prove that Fiction4All has rights to publish on Amazon.

This publishing option is available to authors aged at least 18 years. If your book was previously with another publisher then it must have been removed from sale and you must have a reversion of rights letter as evidence you have regained the rights to publish the book elsewhere. If you have previously represented your book on a free site or have self-published your book please contact us before you submit it to us.

In joining our Exclusive publishing program you give us publishing rights on an exclusive basis for a minimum period of THREE years. This includes permission to distribute your title through third party sales sites such as Kindle as appropriate (4Play imprint only) and you give us rights to publish your book in both digital and print formats if you opt into our paperback program.

To be Exclusively published by us, your book must be at least 5,000 words long. You must also conform to our submission requirements as described in our various documents in the author suite.

Where your book is a suitable size we will consider it for a paperback edition, provided you have opted IN to our paperback distribution package.

Please note that when you create your first author profile you will automatically be included in our newsletters to authors published on our sites. If you do not wish to receive our business newsletters please do not join us.

FOR ROYALTY RATES PLEASE READ OUR SEPARATE DOCUMENT ON THIS SUBJECT.

We will attempt to submit books to Kindle from our 4Play Press imprint. For this reason you must NOT include in your book any content that has been published by another publisher!

We will create paperback editions where possible for all suitable books that are opted into our paperback program. The minimum book length for standard B format [12.9 x 19.8cm] is about 20000 words. We use Lightning Source for printing POD paperbacks. For the books covered by the imprints in this document we do NOT use ISBNs as we can only sell them from our own sites. For 4PlayPress we will also consider creating a paperback using the Kindle platform paperback option for titles accepted by the Kindle digital platform, provided you opt IN to the Kindle paperback program.

All authors MUST be aged 18 years or over and become members of our site as this is how the stats and royalties system works. A single membership covers all our sites.

Once you have joined us, you will have access from our Control Centre to all the facilities you require. This includes access to the software to set yourself up as one of our authors, the story submission software and the publishing tracking software. In addition you will be able to update your details, monitor your earnings and tell us how you want us to pay you. You can also opt into our Paperback programs.

To become an Exclusive author published by Fiction4All you will need to set up an author profile and agree to allow us to distribute your titles digitally which we publish on 3rd party sites such as Kindle. You also agree to give us exclusive publishing rights for a minimum period of 3 years. We will only publish authors who agree to this.

In all cases we maintain accounts on our site for all authors. You can decide whether you want to be paid weekly or monthly through PayPal, or be paid by direct bank transfer in the UK. When the balance of your account reaches a minimum value of 10 in any of the currencies we support, our account payment processing routines will automatically trigger payment of the entire balance on the account across all supported currencies. For weekly PayPal payments, the balance of your account will be taken as at the end of Sunday each week. Where your balance is greater than 10 in any currency, you will receive payment by the following Tuesday. Where the balance is below the minimum, your balance will roll over to the following week. For monthly payments, due to restrictions imposed by our credit card processing system, payments will not normally be made for at least 21 days after the month end as we have to clear funds from our card processor.

With effect from July 2023 we are no longer able to make International Bank payments. If you do not have a PayPal account please check options online in the link to maintain your account details or contact us and we will try to offer alternatives.

We will pay the costs of a UK Bank transfer.

Author guidelines, royalty payment rates and terms

BY SUBMITTING YOUR BOOK TO US FOR PUBLICATION,

YOU ARE DEEMED TO HAVE READ AND AGREED TO

THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS LAID OUT IN THIS DOCUMENT.

On this platform we welcome manuscript submissions from both new and experienced authors on equal terms. By submitting a story in our adult imprints, the manuscript must contain adult (erotic and BDSM) themes as denoted in our various imprints.

We expect you to present your submission in a format that is as close as possible to our Style Guide. We expect you to have thoroughly checked your script for name consistencies, spellings and for grammar. Provided you have done this then it is FREE to publish with us. If you cannot do this, or your writing quality needs attention, will offer you advice and paid for editorial services to cover the cost and time to bring your work up to a reasonable standard.

As a publisher we know that no script is perfect. So we are not seeking perfection, but we do need a certain standard as we do not have time to edit for free any scripts that are poorly written or formatted, or where no attempt to correct basic spelling mistakes etc. has been made by the author.

This is only fair to all our authors who do make this effort. If the work is not of a suitable quality, we will either request you make changes before resubmitting it, or we can direct you to our recommended paid-editor services.

The guidelines below are for authors submitting stories to be published directly by us in our various adult-orientated imprints. These stories must NOT be published elsewhere, including any magazines, and by submitting them to us you agree to give us rights to publish and distribute your stories on our own and 3rd party sites exclusively, both in digital and print formats. You also confirm that you are the copyright owner of the material you are submitting. We will close the account, and retain any royalties, of any author who submits a story that has been plagiarised or stolen from another author.

The A1AdultEbooks site sells adult fiction ebooks and paperback editions (if you opt IN to the paperbacks program).

WE DO NOT PUBLISH INCOMPLETE STORIES OR COLLECTIONS THAT ARE EXTRACTS OR ADVERTS

Submissions

Before submitting your story please make sure it conforms with the requirements in our Style Guide. This is important.

EXCLUSIVE AUTHORS are asked to submit their stories using the Publish a New Book option in the Control Centre.

As an author you must join us as a member and then set up your author profile (pen name and short biography) using the facilities within the Authors Suite. To become an author published by Fiction4All, as part of the author profile you must agree to our publishing package terms and give us exclusive publishing rights for a period of 3 years.

Once an exclusive author profile has been created, you can use the Publish a New Book feature to create a title submission. This procedure will require you to supply the following information:

o   The imprint that is appropriate for your submission.

o

o   Then select the Genre(s) that the title applies to. You can see the available genres on the front page of the author suite and inside the author suite. You may select up to three genres that are applicable to your title.

o

o   A short blurb for the title (300 characters) - this is not a full synopsis but a few hundred words that will be displayed on site to attract interest in your book.

o

o   A longer blurb for the title - this is not a full synopsis but like the information you would expect to find on the back of a paperback novel.

o

o   Providing a cover image (with or without titling) is useful to us but any image must NOT be sexually graphic. Any image you provide must conform to the following:- either you are the copyright holder of the image, or you are licensed to use the image (proof required) or the image is listed as being copyright-free.

o

o   Once you have completed the short submissions form you will be given the choice of either emailing us the story or uploading it to our server using the software provided. We require from you the following files:

o

§  The full script in Word document (.doc) or RTF (.rtf) format. Avoid adding your name or page numbers, we will add all the legal protection necessary if your novel is accepted. Your manuscript MUST closely follow our layout requirements which are detailed in our Style Guide.

§

§  Your chosen extract from the title to help sell your title (usually the first chapter or a few hundred words). If you do not supply one we will use the first few pages from your story.

§

§  If you are providing a cover image, you must send us a good-quality cover picture in accordance with the rules already stated. The image must be relevant to the story supplied as a jpg. This should be portrait in orientation. If you can't do this - no matter - we will source a cover image for you.

Submissions that do not follow the above procedure and provide all the information requested are unlikely to be considered for publication.

Manuscripts submitted that do not conform reasonably well to our manuscript layout requirements in our Style Guide will not be accepted by us.

It is your responsibility as author to ensure your script follows our Style Guide as closely as possible and that the script has been thoroughly checked for spelling and grammar. If our editorial team consider any book has not been presented to our requirements then we will either reject the submission or offer paid-editorial services.

Content limitations for all adult fiction

For adult story submissions to any of our adult imprints, please note the following:

You MUST certify that your submission does not contain any subject matter that is included in our BANNED CONTENT document.

Royalty payment and terms

ROYALTY RATE

Please see our royalty information page for rates.

You have access to detailed transaction reports from each of our sites.  Sales from our own sites are credited to you within the hour off the customer making payment for their purchase. Our software runs in a batch process behind the scenes on a cyclical basis.

Revenue earned from 3rd party sites will be credited to your account as soon as we receive the related payment, and will then be automatically included in your next payout according to the payment cycle and minimum payment you set up on your account. Please note for Amazon this will be at least 2 months and maybe 3 after the sale on their site took place. For Smashwords this will be 1 to 2 months after the sale takes place. Other sites we distribute on pay us quarterly when our account with them reaches a certain threshold for payment, and will be at least a month after the quarter to which the payment relates.

In all cases we maintain accounts for all authors. You can decide whether you want to be paid weekly, monthly or quarterly through PayPal. Or you can be paid monthly or quarterly by bank transfer (UK or International). When the balance of your account reaches a minimum of 10 in any of the three currencies we hold, our account payment processing routines will automatically trigger payment of the balance on the account. For weekly PayPal payments, the balance of your account will be taken as at the end of Sunday each week. Where your balance is greater than the minimum payout level, you will receive payment by the following Tuesday. Where the balance is below the minimum, your balance will roll over to the following week. For monthly and quarterly payments, due to restrictions imposed by our credit card processing system, we MUST advise you that payments will not be made for up to 28 days after the month end as we have to clear funds from our card processor. Transfers to a UK Bank are made FREE of chargeFor transfers to a UK please contact us for details so we can set this up for you.

COPYRIGHT

Copyright always remains with the author.

We will do our best to stop your books from being given away for free on forums and other sites - however this is a cooperative exercise and almost impossible to police, and we rely on information being fed back to us so we can take action against those who would rob you of your income. When we are made aware of a copyright infringement we will do all we can to resolve the matter as your publisher.

PUBLISHING RIGHTS

As author you confer exclusive rights on Fiction4All to publish your book in digital formats, and printed format if you opt into our paperback program, and by agreement subject to book size and studio availability, in audiobook format. It is taken as agreed between you and us that we have these rights for a minimum period of 3 years from the date of publication (7 years for an audiobook). If your book is eligible to be added to our paperback publishing program but you do not want it included in that program, you must identify this when submitting the book to us. If you require a reversion of rights during the initial 36 month period you must write to us and ask for this to happen. We reserve the right to charge $50 per book where the book is in digital format only, and $100 per book if the book is in print before rights will revert. After the 36 month period as stated above, you can request reversion of rights without financial cost. After the initial 36 month period we will continue to sell your books unless you ask us to revert rights to you.

PRICING POLICY

Prices of ALL titles published directly by Fiction4All are at the discretion of the editorial team and their decision is final and binding. By submitting a story for publication you are deemed to agree with our decision. We may, at our sole discretion, alter prices up or down at any time to reflect market trends.

We always aim to achieve the highest realistic price for a publication.

I wish you every success as a Fiction4All author.
