THE PUBLISHING PROGRAM - HOW IT
WORKS
Our
site at Fiction4All sells most genres of fiction. We recently changed this to
include self-published books in these genres.
There
are some types of adult content we do not allow - these are included in a
table further down this page. Please be advised that any publisher or
self-publishing author who supplies banned content, or who does not use the
appropriate genres for their stories is liable, at our sole discretion, to
have their account closed and any books on sale removed from sale.
No book may contain adverts or links to any
other sites other than our own. If links or adverts are discovered to sites
such as Amazon, Smashwords, B&N etc then we will remove your book from
sale. We will also be asking authors with such links in existing books to
remove them. If you want to link to your existing works then you can do so to
your author pages on our sites.
To
publish your book with us you MUST own the copyright or rights to publish the
book - if we discover you have not got those rights then we will remove your
books from sale and ban you - and any royalties earned will not be paid as we
may well need to use them in any court proceedings against us.
We
have approximately 2000 authors represented on our sites and we cannot afford
to take reckless risks from the mindless minority who either think they can
steal the works of other authors or who think the rules imposed by our card
processors, or by us, do not apply to them.
If your book contains content generated by
Artificial Intelligence tool you MUST identify this in your submission
details.
The
Publishing Program is designed to make it easy for you to submit your stories
to us. There are two options. Our traditional route is Queued Submission,
whereby you supply a cover to a certain size, an extract of the book for
on-site use, and a version of the manuscript which we will then convert into
the formats we sell on site. The other option is called DTS (Direct To Sale).
With this option you need to supply the cover and extract and all formats of
your book you want us to sell.
So you want to publish your first book through us - GREAT!
The
first requirement is that you join us as a member. Once you have confirmed
your membership through an activation email you will need to set up your
payment preference details and your publisher profile if you are a genuine
publisher. If you are a self-publishing author we just need to know how to
pay you!
Once
you have completed the above, and digitally agreed to our terms and
conditions, you will be able to set up your author profile(s) (names and
biographies) and then you will be able to submit your stories to us.
The
submissions process requires you to first set up the Meta Data for the book -
this includes the title, author, price, genres and other basic details. You
now need to declare if you have used AI tools to create either your book or
the cover.You are allowed to select up to two
appropriate genres for each book (depending on the categorisation of the book
- eg Erotica, BDSM, General Fiction etc) and these
will determine which of our sites and which genre libraries your title will
appear in.
Once the Meta
Data has been supplied you will need to upload the appropriate files.
If
you use the DTS option you will supply any formats of books you want us to be
able to sell. We can sell EPUB, MOBI, LIT, PDF, DOC, RTF, TXT and HTML files
- for DTS you must supply at least a PDF format. For free books we will only
provide a PDF as a download.
The
information to do this is given in the submissions process.
Whilst DTS
supplied books will go on sale within a matter of minutes of you completing
the submission process, please note that for those using the Queued
Submission option, we usually publish twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays.
We
will include your titles as soon as we can - if you submit a lot of titles to
us on the Queued Submission system then they will be included over the next
several cycles as space permits.
We aim
to give each book published as much exposure on our sites as possible for the
volume of books we are publishing.
We do
not offer your books at an initial discount. You are welcome to alter the
price your titles at any time after they are published using the appropriate
option in the BOOKSHELF facility
From
the point where you submit a story up to the point where we start the
publication process, you can update the Meta Data or submit new files if
required. Once the publication process has started, no further updates can
take place.
For adult story submissions please note the following.
You are NOT allowed to publish any adult book on our sites if
it contains any of the following:
1)
the story is mainly written in any language other than English (you may
include the odd sentence in another language provided it is likely to be
understood by the majority of readers.)
2)
the story contains any sexual activity that mentions or involves minors
(under 18s) even if they are simply "around"
3)
the story contains any sexual activity involving animals, corpses, rape,
snuff, smothering, scat, permanent injury or permanent modification
4)
the story contains any illustrations (pictures, images, hentai etc) except
for the cover image which must NOT depict any graphic sexual act or exposed
genitals
5)
from February 2022 you may NOT publish any story containing “Family Erotica”
also known as incest or pseudo-incest and which we previously allowed as
open-minded erotica.
Our card processors can now scan the actual stories
so PLEASE for all our sakes take care!
If
you use the Queued Submission process, then normally the publication process
will result in your supplied manuscript being converted to all the formats we
provide. If you do not want that to happen you MUST provide us with written
notice of which of our available formats you do want us to sell BEFORE you
submit your first story. So you are aware, all our versions (where
appropriate) are unprotected and can be printed. Our Kindle friendly versions
are not DRM protected and can be downloaded to a Kindle via a USB connection
from the a once downloaded there. We also have a facility so customers can
download the EPUB or PDF format ebook direct to
their Kindle using the Amazon Personal Document Services program.
The
Publishing suite provides you with access to online earnings statistics and a
sales report showing the numbers of each title sold. You may also receive
sales confirmation emails relating to your published titles. We believe the
reports give almost everyone the information they will require - if you think
something is missing please get in touch.
We do
not issue US tax forms as we are in the UK and you should be aware that for
business purposes we consider all authors and publishers to be self-employed
and liable for their own tax affairs in their own countries.
